WireTap — Terms of Service

Service Description

WireTap is a voice moderation platform designed to assist server administrators and moderation teams by providing moderation tools, alerting systems, recordings, and integrations.

WireTap provides moderation tools only. All moderation decisions remain the responsibility of server operators.

Compliance Responsibility

Users are responsible for ensuring their use of WireTap complies with all applicable laws, platform policies, and regulations in their jurisdiction.

This includes requirements relating to:

• User notification
• Audio recording
• Consent
• Privacy
• Data retention

WireTap does not guarantee legal compliance in any specific region. Users are responsible for understanding and complying with local laws and platform requirements before enabling voice monitoring features.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use WireTap for unlawful surveillance
• Target individuals outside intended moderation purposes
• Attempt unauthorized access to systems
• Reverse engineer, exploit, or interfere with the service
• Use WireTap to collect information unrelated to moderation

User Responsibility

You are responsible for:

• Your configuration settings (WireTap may provide assistance with setup and configuration; however, by using the service, you accept responsibility for your final configuration choices)
• Alert rules and keyword lists
• Moderation decisions
• Access permissions

Data Storage & Retention

WireTap processes and stores moderation-related data on WireTap-managed infrastructure.

WireTap retains stored recordings and moderation-related files for 30 days from the date of creation unless otherwise stated.

After the retention period expires, recordings and stored moderation files may be permanently deleted from WireTap systems.

Server owners are responsible for downloading and securely storing any recordings or moderation files they wish to retain beyond the 30-day retention period. Once downloaded, storage, security, and retention of those files become the responsibility of the server owner.

WireTap reserves the right to modify retention periods in the future where applicable.

Service Availability

WireTap is provided on an “as available” basis.

Availability, features, integrations, and functionality may change over time.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, WireTap and its operators are not liable for:

• Lost profits
• Lost data
• Moderation decisions
• Community disputes
• Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages

Suspension & Termination

WireTap reserves the right to suspend, restrict, revoke, or terminate access to the service at its sole discretion, with or without prior notice, where permitted by applicable law.

Access may be suspended, restricted, or terminated for reasons including, but not limited to:

• Violations of these Terms
• Abuse or misuse of the platform
• Activity that harms users, infrastructure, or service integrity
• Attempts to bypass restrictions or interfere with operations
• Failure to comply with applicable laws or platform policies
• Security concerns or operational requirements
• Business, technical, or service-related decisions

Termination or suspension of access does not automatically entitle the user to refunds, compensation, or continued access to stored data unless otherwise required by law or a separate written agreement.

WireTap reserves the right to discontinue, modify, limit, or revoke service availability at any time.

Changes to Terms

These Terms may be updated periodically.

Continued use of WireTap after updates constitutes acceptance of revised Terms.
